2002 NFL Fearless And Stupid - Mock Draft
Final "Should Take" - "Will Take" Mock

The "Should Take" column is they way I think the draft would go if teams did what was really best for them. The "Will Take" is what teams will most likely actually do on draft day. We'll see which is more accurate, and which one looks better in a year.

Click here for the Seahawks 2002 draft preview.

* = Junior declaration

Thanks to everyone who dropped by this year -- except the "Faiders" fans who got all pissed off -- and be sure to stop by next week for the 2002 draft review!

David Carr

 QB
Fresno State

No Suspense here.

2

Joey Harrington

QB
Oregon

Julius Peppers*
DE
North Carolina

Dumb, dumb dumb. They'll regret this.

3

Joey Harrington

QB
Oregon

Julius Peppers*
DE
North Carolina

Quentin Jammer
CB
 Texas

Yes, I know it's not really Kosher to have Harrington in here twice, but when Panthers pass on him Lions are stupid not to grab him. If Panthers got smart then Peppers would obviously make sense for Lions over Jammer.

4

Ryan Sims
DT
North Carolina

Mike Williams
OT
Texas

Late word is they will pass on Sims with a huge hole at DT opposite Pat Williams. They love Texas' Williams and will use him to protect their investment in pending QB Drew Bledsoe.

5

Quentin Jammer
CB
 Texas

Bryant McKinney
OT

Miami (Fla.)

Inside sources say Stallworth is the man. I just don't buy it.

6

Roy Williams*
SS

Oklahoma

Roy Williams*
SS

Oklahoma

Cowboys get it right.

7

Bryant McKinney
OT

Miami (Fla.)

Albert Haynesworth*
DT
 Tennessee
Vikings coach Mike said today that Vikings will "go big" with this pick. How much bigger can human beings get?

8

Albert Haynesworth*
DT
 Tennessee

Joey Harrington

QB
Oregon

Management is looking past the Dick Vermeil era.

9

Mike Williams
OT
Texas

Ryan Sims
DT
North Carolina

Jags will OT or DT. Obviously.

10

Phillip Buchanon*
CB
 Miami (Fla.)

Phillip Buchanon*
CB
 Miami (Fla.)

Might go for Shockey instead.

11

Wendell Bryant
DT
 Wisconsin

Wendell Bryant
DT
 Wisconsin

Bryant's a great fit at this pick.

12

Charles Grant*
DE

Georgia

Charles Grant*
DE

Georgia

Word is Cards really like Grant.

13

Donte Stallworth*
WR

Tennessee

Donte Stallworth*
WR

Tennessee

Should wait on their other needs to take the big play maker.

14

John Henderson

 DT
 Tennessee

John Henderson

 DT
 Tennessee

Titans wouldn't mind this turn of events at all.

15

Jeremy Shockey*
TE

Miami (Fla.)

Jeremy Shockey*
TE

Miami (Fla.)

Shockey might not last this long.

16

Willie Green*
RB

Boston College

TJ Duckett*
RB
Michigan State

Green or Duckett, Green or Duckett, Green or Duckett? Watch. It'll be Fonoti ...

17

Ashley Lelie*
WR

Hawaii

Ashley Lelie*
WR

Hawaii

Nice fit here.

18

Patrick Ramsey
QB

Tulane

Patrick Ramsey
QB

Tulane

Snyder-brenner wants a "sexy" pick. Maybe they'll draft Jessica Alba. This has become a fashionable pick in a lot of late mocks. Remember you heard it here first.

19

Edward Reed
FS
Miami (Fla.)

Levi Jones
LT
Arizona State

They'll probably take a receiver after all. That's what I get for listening to last minute rumors.

20

Daniel Graham
TE
Colorado

Edward Reed
FS
Miami (Fla.)

I'd be giddy about either of these guys. Will Seahawks trade up ... for Harrington?

21

Larry Tripplet
DT
Washington

Javon Walker
WR
Florida State

"Faiders" don't know what's good for them.

22

Mike Rumph
CB

Miami (Fla.)

Lito Sheppard*
CB
Florida

I like Rumph better than Sheppard, but Lito can return kicks.

23

Javon Walker
WR
Florida State

Napoleon Harris
LB/DE
Northwestern

Will probably go offense/defense, but would they really pass on Edwards twice? Hey, it's AL DAVIS.

24

Levi Jones
LT
Arizona State

Kalimba Edwards

DE

South Carolina

Jones over Edwards, if both are there.

25

Kalimba Edwards

DE

South Carolina

Dwight Freeney
DE
Syracuse

They'll love it if Edwards is there.

26

 TJ Duckett*
RB
Michigan State

Larry Tripplet
DT
Washington

Tripplet is the ideal fit next to Corey Simon.

27

Anthony Weaver
DT/DE
Notre Dame

Toniu Fonoti*

OG
Nebraska

49ers will be happy either way.

28

Josh Reed*
WR
LSU

Eddie Freeman
DT
Alabama-Birmingham

Packers may reach for a DT if they have concern about Reed's health.

29

Dwight Freeney
DE
Syracuse

Lamont Thompson
FS
Washington State

Bears are thinking of shoring up the defense.

30

Napoleon Harris
LB/DE
Northwestern

Daniel Graham
TE
Colorado

Steelers are said to be high on Graham.

31

Antwaan Randle-El
WR/KR
Indiana

Mike Pearson*
OT
Florida

Will Mike Martz really be this conservative? I still think Randle-El is a perfect fit for the Rams, Terrance Wilkins notwithstanding.

32

Jabar Gaffney
WR
Florida

Clinton Portis*
RB
Miami (Fla.)

Pats get speed either way.
